ME Certification Ltd (MEC) is delighted to announce that Cora Seip-Markensteijn has joined the MEC team as an MSC Fisheries Assessment Manager.

Cora has a background in marine biology, and 10 years of experience in working for and with the fishing industry. She started her career in fisheries as a policy officer ‘Marine and Spatial Planning’ for the Dutch Fish Product Board.

Prior to joining MEC she worked as an independent consultant, and worked closely with the Dutch mussel industry on biotoxins, mussel translocations, and sustainability. She specialised in environmental impact assessments, nature conservation licencing, and ecolabels, and has worked with a wide range of fisheries, both in salt- and freshwater.

Cora is excited to be a part of the MEC fisheries team, after working with the team for several years, first as a representative for clients, and later as a Principle 3 expert.
